2019: Abubakar Atiku S/West support group set for launch to kick-start campaign

The pan-Nigerian movement, which seeks to advocate for the development and growth of the Nigerian state and the protection of its citizens’ rights and privileges worldwide, said this in a statement made available to the Nigerian Tribune by its deputy national president, Otunba Earnest Wale Fasan.

Fasan said the launch, schedule to hold at GRA Ikeja on Sunday, would have in attendance all the “who is who” in the political firmament especially from the South-Western zone and other political gladiators from other zones of the country, adding that they would be at the event not only to give their unalloyed support and full endorsement for the movement but also the Atiku’s presidential ambition.

Speaking further, RNI deputy president described the former vice president, Alhaji Atiku, as a completely de-tribalised Nigerian who possesses qualities to govern a multi-ethnic and religiously sensitive country like Nigeria.

He said the movement, with its over five million members across Nigeria, decided to pitch its tent with Alhaji Atiku on his presidential ambition because he parades the best credentials to be the next president of Nigeria considering his experience and acceptability in all the geo-political zones in the country.

“Atiku is a completely de-tribalised Nigerian who also understands the dynamics of governing a multi-ethnic and religiously sensitive country like Nigeria,” Fasan declared.

General Secretary of the group, Mr Christian Aburime, in his remark, said with the launch, the movement would embark on massive grassroots mobilisation with the aim of educating and enlightening the Nigerian electorate to align and support the presidential ambition of Alhaji Atiku for the 2019 presidential poll.

Aburime, while noting that RNI though had its membership cut across virtually all the 774 local governments in the country, boasted that it had a formidable structure in Lagos and the South-Western axis of the country.
